HI, I’M STÉPHANE DUCRET
And ever since I was a child, I have dreamed of becoming what I have become: a professional visual artist (a painter)!
I am Swiss, born in Lausanne, and I hold a BFA and an MFA from HEAD (Haute école d'art et de design), Geneva, and have been a board member and teacher at ECAL (Ecole cantonale d'art de Lausanne), Lausanne.
I also founded two art galleries in New York and Geneva and ran l’elac in Lausanne.
In 2016, having felt the need to take a break from my own artistic practice and to compensate for the lack of professionalism in the course offerings given in Geneva, I created ART CLASSE, a place for teaching knowledge, as much technical about painting as historical and contextual about artists, their backgrounds and works.
Since then, hundreds of participants have succeeded in painting many real “fake” paintings after famous great masters.
With over 30 years of experience in the art world, I offer unique and proven step-by-step painting instruction classes linked to current art practices!
And finally, thanks to my REAL/FAKE workshops, I myself have rediscovered the creative and technical inspiration for my individual practice, which has since grown considerably.
